Notice To Previous Taxpayers of the Villages of Carp & Richmond
For properties with No Water Services
Sewer Charge Adjustment Application
As a property owner in the Carp or Richmond area, you paid for the City’s sanitary sewer on your tax bill based on an average consumption on metered services through a flat rate multiplied by the assessment of your property. Due to a reduction in consumption over the years not being factored into the calculation of the tax rate, Council at it’s meeting of April 28th, 2010 approved an adjustment to the rate charged for sewer services applied to properties on the city’s sewer system but not connected to water retroactive to January 1, 2001 to December 31, 2009 plus accrued interest.
Current property owners will see this credit applied to the 2010 Final Property Tax bill. Previous owners must make application to receive this adjustment by way of application by the deadline of Tuesday, July 20, 2010.
